Several of Dr. Kumar’s recent studies explore how lattice strain and epitaxial mismatch influence electronic, magnetic, and electrochemical properties in complex oxides and nickel oxide thin films. By using carefully selected substrates and growth conditions, his team can engineer materials for optimized performance in devices such as sensors and electrochemical cells.
